She was predeceased by: her husband William I. Barnes; her daughter Diana Barnes Wynne; her parents, Joseph Scharer and Bessie Scharer; and her brothers, Ted and Don Scharer.
She is survived by: her son Darian Barnes (Annette); her grandchildren, Ben Gatlin (Amanda), Sara Watson (James), Zane Barnes (Laurel), Michelle Barnes (Tony H.) and Emily Trantham (Will); and her sisters, Ann Ridley, Sue Stephens of South Pittsburg, TN and Reba Scharer of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the South Pittsburg Funeral Home Chapel (400 Laurel Ave, South Pittsburg, TN 37380). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (700 Holly Ave, South Pittsburg, TN 37380).
