He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucian Lamar Gilmore and Ethel Waters Gilmore; his former wives, Patsy Jane Mims and Jane Owen Hartley; and his stepson Robert Hartley.
He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Jackson Gilmore; his children, Howell Gilmore and Miria Finckenor (Jeffrey); his stepchildren, Steve Hartley (Terri) and Shana Grier (Alan); and his grandchildren, Charles Hartley (Ashley), Matthew Hartley (Lisa), Kyla Hartley, Michael Hartley, Megan (Rafael) of Cerqueira, Kaitlyn Sturgeon (Adam), Nansi Hayes (CJ), Chad Gilmore (Jessica), Erich Finckenor (Shelley) and Ruth Finckenor. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salem Baptist Church (217 S Main St, Brundidge, AL 36010).
