He was predeceased by: his mothers, Willie B. Wheeler and Essie Lee Bell Wheeler; his wife Betty S. Wheeler; his siblings, Vernell Foster, Venell Alexander, JoAnn Burney, Annie Wheeler, Cero, Lamar, Lorenzo and Levon Wheeler; and his great grandchildren, Jadakis McKinney and Raequan Wheeler.
He is survived by: his sons, Bobby E. Wheeler and Joseph L. Wheeler (Jerica); his grandchildren, Latesha Knight (Anthony), Latresa Rodgers (Edrick), Detrick Wheeler (Jennifer), Bobby Levon Wheeler (Urshula), Yalonda Wheeler and Shakeesha Wheeler; his brother Roy Lee Wheeler; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Wheeler. He is also survived by twenty-two great grand- children, three great-great grandchildren.
