He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Caffie and Della Mae Caffie; and his siblings, Harlan Dexter Caffie and Lillian Caffie. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Dixon Caffie; his children, Benwana Dixon (Latavia), Stephanie Sharee Caffie and Fredrick Dexter Caffie; his grandchildren, Shemari Dixon, Shemaia Dixon, Leah Dixon and Jaxson Caffie; his siblings, Jefferey Caffie (Gussie), Nelson Caffie (Yulanda), Livia Fenn and Denise Caffie; and his mother-in-law Minnie Lee Carter. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association (2451 Crystal Drive Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202).
