He was predeceased by: his parents, Hardison Hayes and Mary Hayes; and his son Cody Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Myra Hayes; his children, Tanya Lathum, Brian Hayes (Traci) and Marc Hayes (Kris); his siblings, Jeff Hayes and Patricia Boshell (Sumiton); his grandchildren, Caleb Hoggle (Chloe), Cayley Hamner, Hunter Hayes, Sage Hayes, Savannah Hayes and Bryson Lathum; and his great grandchildren, Cash Hoggle and Fenleigh Hamner.
