She was predeceased by: her parents, Velmon Carter and Leola Tidwell Carter; her husband Bobby Joe Benson; and her siblings, Drolan Carter and Hazel Rye.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Winslett (Tim) of Brilliant, Tracy Miles (Marty) of Winfield and Kristie Flemming (Jeremie) of Millport; and her grandchildren, Amanda Tidwell (Brian), Clint Nabors (Holly), Robin Fortenberry, Derick Miles (Jordan), Tyler Nix, Kayla Winslett and Nathan Winslett. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
