He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Crabtree and Izola Crabtree; and his sister Billie B. Robinson. He is survived by: his wife Aldonna Payne Crabtree; his daughter Heather Crabtree Fallecker; his son-in-law Scott Fallecker of Ooltewah, Tennessee; his daughter Holly Crabtree Cooper of Athens, Alabama; his grandchildren, Leah Rae Wilson, Thomas Heaton Cooper and Jesse Adam Cooper; his brother Jesse James (Dickie); his sister-in-law Sherron Gail Crabtree of Bryant, Alabama; his sister Loretta; and his brother-in-law Jerry Carpenter of Hixson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lena Cagle Public Library.
