She was predeceased by: her husband Bill Newton; her siblings, Bobbie Allison (E. C.), Polly Raulston (James) and George "Tobe" Samples (Wanda); and her granddaughter Hannah Newton.
She is survived by: her son John Newton (Carol); her granddaughter Amy Matthews (Bob); and her great grandchild Zaida Matthews. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
