He was predeceased by: his parent Rosice Jim Mitchell; his wife Vera L. Mitchell; his daughter Mary Brown; and his brother Gene Stacy. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Mitchell, Valerie Mitchell, Yolanda Mitchell (James) and Tim Brown (Nita); his nieces, Veronica Hill, Debra Hill, Consuelo Rutledge and Tajuanna Rutledge; his siblings-in-law, James Brown, Karl McMillian and Margaret Hill; and his close friend Tommy Joe Moore. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, ten great nieces and nephews, nineteen great grand nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cahaba Memorial (100 Patridge Dr, Centreville, AL 35042). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Ebell Missionary Baptist Church.
