He was predeceased by: his wife Tinnie Sue McKinney; his parents, James Hopson McKinney and Bertha Mae Wright McKinney; and his siblings, Albert and Caroline.

He is survived by: his children, Mark McKinney (Sharon) of Eoline, Mickey McKinney (Marielos) of Costa Rica, Tammy Kay Steele (Billy) of Eoline and Robin Gail Williford (Jerry) of Bosier City, LA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
