He was predeceased by: his parents, Burlie H. Averette and Effie D. Averette; his wife Margarette Averette; and his siblings, Harold Averette, Beauford Averette, Alease Johnson, Carolyn Dawson, Cathy Smith and Thelma Averette.

He is survived by: his daughter Debra Averette; and his sister Burlene Ingram.
