She was predeceased by: her husband Murrell Funso Compton; her parents, Charlie Ray and Argenia Herrington Sorrells; and her siblings, Nannie Bell Gunter and Carroll Sorrells.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Compton and Sabrina Owens (Roy); her grandchildren, Shelley Baker (Ken), Nicole Blackmon (Jason), Hagen Compton (Jennifer), Jeremy Owens (Greta), Brandon Owens (Jean) and Jarred Owens (Lauren); and her sister Bobbie Lambert (Byram). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members & friends.
