He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Coby and Gertrude Dobbs Coby; his wife Joyce Cofield Coby; and his siblings, Billy, James, Henry, Harold Coby, Eunice Scott, Betty Campbell, Ann Steffens, Rosemary Freeman Wilson and Gaynell Coby.
He is survived by: his children, Chris (Kay Power), Benny (Lori Coby), Madison Cobb of Boaz and Robin Coby of Boaz; his grandchildren, Dr. Ashley, David Lackey, Brooke, Brad Ashley, Nichole Harmon, Elizabeth Power, Joseph Power and John Coby, III; his great grandchildren, Jackson Ashley, Lily Lackey, Logan Lackey, Alexus Ashley, Braxton Raines, Liam Carmack and Charlee Jane Power; and his sisters, Janet Woodham of Albertville, Jenny Snider of Albertville and Linda Grindle of Boaz.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mcrae Funeral Home (99 Glenda Dr, Boaz, AL 35957). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (2650 Pine St, Albertville, AL 35950).
The family is accepting flowers or suggests donations to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
