She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Andrew Monroe; her parents, William Stephen Massie and Mamie Krapp Massie; and her siblings, William Stephen Massie, Jr., George Melvin Massie, James Howard Massie and Vera Marion Massie.
She is survived by: her children, Marian Brazzell (Sherrell) of Birmingham, AL, Raymond (Renee) of Crystal Lake, IL, Carl (Ellen) of Roland, AR, Larry (Cindy) of Braselton, GA, Alec (Sonia) of Woodstock, AL and Ted (Tina) of Arab, AL; and her grandchildren, Jay (Shauna), Charlie (Sarah), Meredith, Andrew (Taylor), Barbara (Jeremy), Alex (Esther), Alan, Kaitlin, William (Alicia), John (Tara), Robert (Rachel), Thomas (Melissa), Sammie Jo (James), Tanner, Tatum and Tessa. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren.
