He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Congressman Frank W. Boykin of Alabama and Ocllo Gunn Boykin; and his children, James Robert Boykin, Jr., Grace Browder Boykin, Browder Walker Boykin, Starr Lynn Boykin, Jan Boykin Miller, Michael Dent Boykin and Randolph Gunn Boykin. He was also cherished by his children, he is survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
