We are sad to announce that on January 9, 2025, at the age of 74, Wanda E Merchant of Birmingham, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Wanda's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Wanda has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Smith & Gaston Funeral Services (102 6th Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Fairfield (324 59th St, Fairfield, AL 35064). A burial will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Valhalla Cemetery (839 Wilkes Rd, Birmingham, AL 35228).
