He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jo Thurman Hitt; his parents, Fox Ezra Hitt and Eula Sanford Hitt; and his siblings, Margaret Robbins Fortenberry, James Robbins and Robert Hitt.
He is survived by: his children, Lewis Hitt and Barbara Hitt Zary; and his grandchildren, Casey Hitt Guffey, Lindsey Hitt Fussell and David Zary. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the New Bunker Hill Cemetery.
