He is survived by: his grandparents, Denise Staples (Birmingham), Patricia Griffin (Mississippi), Dave Griffin (Mississippi) and Phil McGill (Birmingham); his aunt Octavia Staples; his uncle Octavius Staples (Chicago); his children, Prince Staples and Ny'Ora Murray; his siblings, Kira Rodriguez, Monique McKinney, Endyia Stewart (Detroit), Romero Staples and Edmen Stewart; and his nieces and nephews, Ariya, Soheila, Markell, Aveah, Aveon and E'leiah. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and long time friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Smith & Gaston Funeral Services (102 6th Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the New Grace Hill Cemetery (1931 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211).
