It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sarah Dean Steeley of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on January 21, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Larry Joe Steeley, Sr.; her siblings, Vener Bartlett, Evie Hood, Lois Privett, Lena Walden, Lorene Laseter, Espy Privett, Oral Privett, Luther Privett and Aaron Privett; and her parents, John David and Jessie Pearl Privett.

She is survived by: her sons, Larry Joe Steeley, Jr. (Renee) and Mark Steven Steeley (Lisa); her stepchildren, Debbie Jo Steeley McDurmin (Rick) and Larry Wayne Steeley (Trisha); her grandchildren, Rick, Angie, Chris, Tiffany, Justin, Jacob, Whitney, Hunter, Cathrine, Landon, Alec and Ryan; her caregivers, Deborah Averritt, Jacquelin Gibson and Jerri Waterhouse; and also, Whitney, Jessica, Tristan, Tinsley, Jackson, Greyson, Rylee, Solomon, Jovie and Leni.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Shelby Fire Department.

“Mrs. Steeley was a beautiful lady inside and out. I am thankful for the short period of time I got to care for her and Mr. Steeley. They were the most caring and loving people. It was truly a pleasure to care for them both. Heaven did gain a pair of angels when God called them home. I will always remember them. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during their time of grief. May God comfort them with his love and mercy.”
