She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Anderson and Earline Anderson; her son Stacey Fleming (AL); and her sisters, Josie Anderson McMillian and Betty Anderson Porter.

She is survived by: her husband Richard K. Swain; her children, Tammy Anderson of Maryland, Manina Scott (Carlos) of Maryland, Sade Smith and Aude Harrison; her grandchildren, Khalid Mahammend, Stacey Fleming, Jasper Fleming, Monique Fleming, Travis Fleming, Trenton Fleming, Darius Fleming, Mya Scott, Brenton Scott and Mariah Scott; her siblings, Clara Gardner, Barbara Bethea (David), Nona Cunningham, Magdalene Cowlin, Patricia Jones (Ulysses), James Anderson, Robert Anderson, Larry Anderson (Tammy) and Percy Anderson (Johnnie Faye); and her goddaughter Shawnda Tyler of Maryland. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
