With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy K. Dawson (Birmingham, Alabama), born in Whatley, Alabama, who passed away on March 8, 2021 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roy K. Dawson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lemuel and Mary Benson Dawson; and his wife Elizabeth Ligon Dawson. He is survived by: his children, Jeanne Dawson Jeff (David) of Homewood and John R. Dawson (Debra) of Carmel; his grandchildren, Stuart David Jeff (Allison) of Baltimore, Rachael Jeff Abercrombie (Keith) of Birmingham, Laura Jeff McFee (John) of Montgomery and Whitney Dawson Sutton (Paul) of Chicago, Illinois.; his great grandchildren, Morris, Nelly, Betty Jeff, Libby, Grace and Rosemary McFee; his nieces and nephews, Bonnie Burns Murray (Michael) of Mountain Brook, Jessica Dawson of Montgomery, John Michael Feagin Murray (Catherine) of Los Angeles and Johnny Ray Dawson (Carol) of Jackson, Alabama.; and his friends, Jim, Cendy Cooper and Roy.
Although we know many who loved Roy would want to join us to celebrate a life well-lived, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to have a family only service.
