He was predeceased by: his son Paul Cooper; his parents, Grace Cooper and L. G. Cooper; and his brother Danny Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Zann Cooper; his children, Teresa Mardis (Pete), Gina Hammonds, Chad Cooper (Jennifer), Angela McNair and Sam McNair (Janine); and his grandchildren, Jim Mardis, Kasey Mardis, Donya Hammonds, Krystal Hammonds, Ashley Jenkins, Alex Roberts, Alexandra Courtney, Courtney Pate, Abigail Cooper, Nicholas McNair and Scarlett McNair. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
