He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Spann and Lula Bell Green Spann. He is survived by: his son Roland Hayes Spann, Jr. (Roland) of Huntsville, AL; his brother Jerry Spann (Annette); his grandsons, Roland H. Spann, III and Zion W. Spann; his nieces and nephews, Tracy McAdory (Virgil), Alicica Washington, Genee Reaves (Arsenio) and Jermaine Spann (Davida); his cousins, Audrey Lewis and Alisa Lee; his friend Barbara Ann Spann; and his cousin Geraldine Croom of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Poole's Funeral Chapel (1501 7th Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church (521 4th St, Birmingham, AL 35214).
