He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Dietlein and Barbara Dietlein (Froehlich); and his siblings, Dorothy Ryan and Eugene Dietlein. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Crim Dietlein; his daughters, Pamela Dietlein and Diane Dietlein-Cox (William); his grandchildren, Cameron, Clayton Brown, Elizabeth and Coleman Cox; and his sister Peggy Alhofen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a legion of loving friends.
