He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Serviss Sr. and Rhetta Ophelia Serviss. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Serviss; his daughter Leigh Serviss; and his siblings, Joseph Serviss and Janice Tidwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the Serviss family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to the JSU Foundation, 700 Pelham Road N., Jacksonville, AL 36265 or to the Blazer Scholarship Fund at UAB Athletics (Blazer Boosters Attn: Adam Savoie, Bartow Arena West Tower, 617 13th St. S., Birmingham, AL 35294-3340).
