It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Reese Leon Ponder Jr. (Birmingham, Alabama), who passed away on June 26, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Reese Leon leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ben, Mia, Abbie, Sam and Evan; his wife Linda; and his children, Hunter (Erika) of Vestavia Hills, Scott (Alison) of Bluff Park, Karen Ponder Messersmith of Alabaster and Rebecca Ponder Mitchell of St. He is also survived by his family and friends.
