She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Poe and Lala Poe; her husband Aubrey Varden; her daughter Theresa Cato; and her granddaughter Audrey Cato.
She is survived by: her sisters, Beatrice Hovies and Melony Adams; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Lee Martin (Melissa) and Brandy Martin; and her great grandchildren, Jeremiah Lee Martin II, Kayla Martin, Cory Cato, Ashley Johnson, Haley Roberts, Hunter Roberts, Nathan Cato, Elizabeth Cato Simpson, Abi Cato and Matthew Cato.
