He was predeceased by: his parent Flora Shears; his brothers, James Shears and Elijah Shears; his nephews, Sean Curtis Lucas and Terrell Brewster; his brothers-in-law, Gary Brewster and Miles Brewster; and his mother-in-law Doris Brewster Smoot.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Shears; his children, Danielle Shears and Christopher Shears; his granddaughter Ramsey Shears; his siblings, John Shears, Rosalee Shears-Sanders (James) and Shirley Lucas (Orlando); his aunt Hattie Shears; his siblings-in-law, Jerome Brewster, Vincent Brewster, Yolanda Hollman and Bonita Brewster; and his son Michael Shears. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
