It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Olen Wesley Matson Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Robert Hodge; and his parents, Olen Wesley Matson Sr. and Willowdean Browning Matson. He is survived by: his daughter Samantha Cain Riggs; his grandchildren, Meighan, Amanda, Kyle, Tommy and Isaiah; his great grandchild Madison (Maddi); and his siblings, Sherry Cain, Shelia Graham and David Matson (Lori). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
