She was predeceased by: her husband Jack W. Christy; her parents, Jack Spann and Winnie Spann; her brothers, Richard "Dick" Spann and Jack Spann; and her son-in-law Rick Chaney.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol McKissack (Gerald), Kay Cordes, Candy Hayes (Jerry) and Kim Chaney. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Mrs. Christy worked for the American Heart Association for 17 years.
