It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary W. Nash of Birmingham, Alabama, born in Athens, Georgia, who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul James Williams and Eleanor Hazen Williams; her husband R. Nelson Nash of Athens; her brother Paul Richard Williams; her daughter-in-law Janel Kong Nash; and her great grandchildren, Austin Patrick Ladner and Isaac Raleigh Ladner.

She is survived by: her children, Debby Nash Mathews (Jake Jr.) of Anniston, AL, Dr. Barrington Nelson Nash (Claudia) of Knoxville, TN and Kimberly Nash Stearns (David) of Birmingham; and her brother Henry David Williams. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
