She was predeceased by: her husband William Ralph Wood; her parents, Frank Atchison and Ida Atchison; and her siblings, Frank Atchison, Jim Atchison, John Atchison, Tommy Atchison, Mary Hollingsworth, Mattie Nell Owens and Hazel Bonner.

She is survived by: her daughters, Glenda Merritt (William) of Talladega, AL and Brenda Byars (Morrell) of Bessemer, AL; her grandchildren, Rhonda Hayden (Bill), Sonya Moses (Jeff), Tommy Merritt (Gina) and Angie Hill (Mike); her sister Emma Atchison of Lexington, SC; and her sister-in-law Jane Atchison of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
