He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Eugene Rutherford and Mildred Lacey Rutherford; and his siblings, Wanda Game and Bobby Gene Rutherford. He is survived by: his son Kyle Rutherford, Jr.; his stepchildren, Sherry Ann Goodwin and Kenneth Wayne Goodwin; his grandchildren, Mallory Jade Goodworth, Reed Eland Rutherford and Reese Ann Rutherford; his siblings, Donald "Buck" Rutherford and Martha Howard; and his niece Stephanie Rutherford of Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
