She was predeceased by: her husband Max Cleveland Pope; her parents, Mary Bell McWhorter and Paul Kerr McWhorter; her brothers, Paul KerrMcWhorter, Jr. (Lenora) and Robert Dale McWhorter; her brother-in-law Robert Benjamin Nelson; her nephew Robert Benjamin Nelson, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Dealie Wayne Pope (Charmian).

She is survived by: her sons, Max Cleveland Pope, Jr. (Linda) and Lee McWhorter Popeand (Fontaine); her granddaughters, MargaretMunger McCall Pope, Mary Dealie Pope, Julia Bell Pope and Caroline Lee Pope; her sister Louise McWhorter Nelson; and her sister-in-law Martha Gilstrap McWhorter. She is also survived by cousins and nieces and nephews.
