It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joyce Burchfield Wood of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on September 15, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Burchfield and Lena Burchfield; and her sisters, Jean Burchfield (McFarland) and Norma Burchfield (Cooper). She is survived by: her spouse Dixon Holman Nabors Sr.; and her sons, Dixon Holman Nabors Jr. Unfortunately, Thomas "Tommy" Milton Wood Jr. and Alan Lafayette Wood. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Mountain Mission Ministries Inc., a ministry that was near and dear to both Joyce and Tom Wood's hearts.
