He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Reed and Glenn W. McCracken, Sr.; his wife Marcia Morgan; his son David Scott McCracken; and his siblings, Glenn W. McCracken, Jr. and Anna Ruth McCracken Cook.

He is survived by: his daughter Carol Lowry; and his son-in-law Dr. Thomas M. Lowry, III of Birmingham.
