It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Koenig (Birmingham, Alabama), who passed away on December 2, 2018, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Koenig of St. Mary and Shirley Koenig (Smith) of East Liverpool, OH.. He is survived by: his wife Carol Lee Koenig (Heckman) of Birmingham; his children, Jason Koenig (Joel) of Birmingham, Justin Koenig (Melinda) of Birmingham, Kristin Greene (Ri) of Birmingham and Kari Cook (Kevin) of Birmingham; his siblings, Beth Brown of Huntsville, AL., Belva Williams (Larry) of Huntsville, AL., Shirley Christian (Robert) of Huntsville, AL. and Sarah Myers (Kelly) of Huntsville, AL.; and his grandchildren, Carly, Cailin, Kassidy, Lydia, Riley, Jack and Emma.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of John Koenig (noted on memo of check) to the University of Alabama College of Engineering where he served on the Materials Engineering Advisory Board.
