He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Mae "Jan" Upshaw; his children, Chrisandra (Cedrick), Terri Locklyn, Stanley Upshaw (Arthurlyn) and Chico Upshaw (Sandra); his siblings, Geraldine Locke, Samuel Upshaw Sr. (Janet) and Aziz-Al-Amin; and his sister-in-law Linda Upshaw. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
