She was predeceased by: her parents, William and England; her brother Peter George Wills (England) of Shropshire; and her husbands, Dick Avery and Jim Goodson.
She is survived by: her children, James Richard Avery, III (Lois) of Phoenix, AZ, Susan Avery Nolen (George) of Birmingham and Catherine Avery Nixon of Birmingham; her grandchildren, Jamie Avery, Clay Nolen (Fef) of Savannah, GA, Shep Nolen (Mimi) of Birmingham, Ross Gwaltney of Atlanta and Avery Lieske (Johnny) of Birmingham; her stepson James M. Goodson, III (Sue); her stepgrandchildren, Colin and Margaret of Castine; her stepdaughter Mary Goodson Samuels (Rick) of Atlanta; and her stepgrandson Ben. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
