He is survived by: his children, Jessie Dawson, Jr. and Christy Dawson; his granddaughter Kaya-Boo; his siblings, Arthur Dawson, Shirley Wagner, Patricia Thomas (Stanley) and Lucille Mahan; his aunt Leona Payne; his former wife Benita Dawson; and his stepchildren, Kimberly and Marques. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
