He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Gaddy and Paralee Catlin Gaddy; his sister Diana Gaddy; and his stepdaughter Michelle Kemp-Gilder. He is survived by: his wife Christine Gaddy; his daughter Vickie Gaddy-Davenport; his stepdaughter Catina Dawson; his grandchildren, T'Meika Jackson, Leonjua Yancy (Jason) and Jamarcus Gilder; his great grandchildren, Skylar, Jaxon, Devon and Joshua; his siblings-in-law, Charles Dawson (Jennie), Sylvester Dawson (Shelia), Walter Dawson (Pamela), Robert Dawson (Brenda), Hubert Dawson, Venda Craig (Carl), Mary Johnson (Andrew) and Cherry Dawson; and his cousin Ruthie Covington.
