She was predeceased by: her mother Rosa Mae Hughes; and her husband Walter Gene Tyner. She is survived by: her children, Alisa Helms (Dick), Russ Tyner (Kathy) and Jayna Southerland (Brian); and her grandchildren, Tyner Helms (Caitlin), Tucker Helms (Emma), Thomas Helms, Mary Allison Ostrye (Nick), Michael Tyner (Grace Bangert), Jennifer Tyner, Anna Scott Welch, Mary Evelyn Welch and Will Welch. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to the North Shelby Baptist Church, 4100 Belcher Drive, Birmingham, AL 35242.
