It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane M Whitaker of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Lee Major and Rosa Wilson Major; and her husband Vernon Edelen Whitaker. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Willian Vernon Whitaker (Ginny), Pamela Whitaker Ball (late Leonard) and Daniel Edelen Whitaker (late Lory); and her grandchildren, William Bennet Whitaker (Elizabeth), David Wilson Whitaker (Natalie), Robert Hollingsworth Whitaker, Shannon E. Waller, III (Jackie), Sarah Anne Sawyer, Daniel Taylor Whitaker (Maggie), Andrew Tucker Whitaker (Ivana) and Mallory Evelyn Whitaker. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (431 60th St N, Birmingham, AL 35212).
