She was predeceased by: her parents, Pauline Henderson Blackwell and Cicero Claude Blackwell; her brothers, Dr. Claude C. Blackwell and William Clifford Blackwell (Earl Martin Stringfellow Jr.); her stepdaughter Ellen Hodges Powell; and her children, Paula Stringfellow Ford, Joy Lucille Stringfellow, Earl Martin Stringfellow III and Martin Blackwell Stringfellow.
She is survived by: her former husband Earl Martin Stringfellow Jr. of Birmingham; her husband Jake Chapline Hodges Jr.; her stepson Jake Chapline Hodges III; her brother Jack Henderson Blackwell; her sons, Edward Tynes Stringfellow and Jack Blackwell Stringfellow; and her grandchildren, James Vardaman Fairley III, Jennifer Fairley Shackelford, Elizabeth Schrum Lee, Claudia Ford Hardcastle, Janie Ford Mayer, Westley Martin Stringfellow and Matthew Blackwell Stringfellow. She is also survived by children, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
