It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Eugene Bailey of Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Bailey and Sarah Nell Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bailey; his siblings, Johnny Bailey and Doris Melton; his children, Cindy Nix (Steve), Randy Bailey (Hazel) and Cary Brent Bailey (Bibby); his sister Gaynell; his grandchildren, Ashley Daniels (Keith), Elizabeth Ogle (Trey), Nick Bailey (Allie), Olivia Brosin (Caleb), Julia Bailey, Brent Bailey (Anahy) and Louis Bailey; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Daniels, Mary Virginia Daniels, Bailey Elizabeth Ogle, Thomas Ogle, Cooper Brosin, Skye Brosin, Kate Bailey and Bridgett Bailey (Bea). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Riverchase Church of Christ (1868 Montgomery Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35244). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Crestview Memorial Funeral Home (5250 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adamsville, AL 35005).
