He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Johnson and Mittie Lee Johnson; and his sons, James Curtis Johnson, Jr. and Mark Christopher Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Sally Wood Johnson; his daughters, Sally Johnson Morriss (Dan) and Susan Johnson Lawrence; and his grandchildren, Sarah Morriss, Katie Morriss Moore (Scott), Daniel Morriss, Juliana Johnson, Matti Rose Lawrence and James Johnson "John" Lawrence.
