He was predeceased by: his parents, Woods Henry Franks and Earlie Miller Franks of Virginia; his siblings, William Garland Franks, James Maxwell Franks, Fred Woods Franks, Marvin Franks, Harold Gordon Franks, Helen Christine Franks Richards and Mary Francis Franks Simmons; and his son-in-law Randall D. Sandford.
He is survived by: his wife Angie V. Pinkerton Franks; his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Franks and Cynthia Jane Franks (Cindy); his grandsons, Austin and Andrew Sandford; and his siblings, Willie Mae Franks Robertson and John Billy Franks. He is also survived by his family, friends.
