He is survived by: his wife Regina "Gina" Latham Piola; his children, Alexander (Casey), Nicolas (Sara), Catherine Schultz (Hanson) and Christopher; his grandchildren, Preston, James, Charlie, Nora Schultz, Jonathan and William Piola; his siblings, Fausto (Amarilis) and Mariela Piola; and his friend Ivan (Gina). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
