He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father George Seymour Lee, Sr.; his brother David Arthur Lee; his wife Glenda Joyce Lee; his children, Allison Lee Dolan (TJ), George Robert "Bobby" Lee (Michelle) and Rebecca Erin Lee; his mother Alice Joyce Lee; and his brothers, Andrew Heard Lee and Bruce Norman Lee (Mindy). He was also cherished by 5 sister-in-laws; 5 brother-in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was an advocate for the special needs community and previously served as a board member for the Exceptional Foundation of the Gulf Coast.
