He was predeceased by: his parents, Creath Goodwin and Thelma Goodwin; his siblings, Betty Jo Mutz, Wilma Eisenback, Mary Lou Johnston and William Creath Goodwin Jr.; his daughter Denise Haverkamp; and his wife Barbara Goodwin.

He is survived by: his sister Ophelia Grimes; his children, Sheryl Heen (Bruce) and Duke Covey; and his grandchildren, Candace Soldano (Joe), Douglas Heen (Jodi) and Tim Whitaker. He is also survived by 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
